Raising money for Refuge Charity

Continuing our ongoing charity fundraising, three of the Dawsons's team took part in MARCH IN MARCH, for REFUGE (registered charity number 277424) joining forces with the TDS (Tenancy Deposit Scheme) and our industry charity Agents Giving (whose patron is TV's Phil Spencer, from Location Location Location).

Lettings Director Ricky Purdy, along with marketing co-ordinator Naomi Webborn, and IT support Kate Phillips, took to the road and racked up 70,000 steps between them.  Ricky thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and was out and about along the Mumbles coastline, tracking his route on the 'onthegomap' App, in fact he became the highest fundraiser from the overall team of 21 people across the UK.  

Team Dawsons were over the moon to present their cheque for £1,265 to Refuge.

Overall, the TDS & Agents Giving team raised a fantastic £4,675.

THE REFUGE CHARITY provides emergency temporary accommodation for women and children fleeing abuse. They give women time and space to make decisions about their futures and our specialist refuge staff are on hand to provide one-to-one emotional and practical support.  In a wonderful email received from Refuge's Senior Community Fundraising Executive, Jess Carmody we learnt that the money we raised would help 24 women to escape from domestic abuse and receive emergency overnight accommodation in one of the charity's refuge spaces.

Dawsons are proud to be supporters of AGENTS GIVING, the main charity for the property industry, who help estate agents, letting agents and property industry suppliers to raise funds for their own chosen charity, by helping to fund the costs involved with setting up charity fundraising events, and sharing their donation pages on all social media platforms.  Find out more about Agents Giving here.
