One Year On: Strategic Growth, Fresh Leadership & Bold Moves for Dawsons

A year can bring about extraordinary change, and at Dawsons, the past 12 months have been nothing short of transformational. With a refreshed leadership structure, strategic internal promotions, and a long-term vision in motion, we’re proud to reflect on a year of bold decisions that have already strengthened our services, expanded our reach, and reaffirmed our position as South Wales’ leading estate agent.

Shaping the Future: Strategic Appointments & Promotions

Central to this evolution has been a renewed focus on internal development. We’ve always believed in the strength of our people, and this past year has seen that belief translated into action:

  • Kristian Davies, now Residential Lettings Operations Director, has stepped into a pivotal role overseeing operations across our growing lettings department. His leadership and instinctive understanding of the industry have made him a standout figure during a time of major sector change, and this promotion reflects both his past contribution and future potential.

  • Kerry Somerville has been promoted to Senior Manager across not just one but two thriving sales branches: Morriston and Swansea. Kerry’s ability to lead, motivate, and consistently deliver results made this an obvious and deserved step forward.

  • Our marketing and communications efforts have also been strategically sharpened with Naomi Webborn stepping into the role of Head of Marketing & PR. This newly defined position strengthens our voice across digital, press, and brand campaigns, a vital move as we continue to expand both our services and our reach.

  • Marcus Man has transitioned from lettings to our Commercial team in 2025, where he’s been a great support to both Joe and James Dawson in carrying out valuations and strengthening our commercial services.

  • David Parton has made a dynamic move from Killay Sales Manager to Auction Manager, bringing his deep sales experience and client-focused approach to lead our expanding Auction House. With in-room auctions having returned in 2025, David’s appointment marks a bold step forward in revitalising this area of the business.

Powered by People: A Team Built for the Future

At the heart of every strategic move, service expansion, or rebrand is our team — a blend of long-serving, deeply experienced professionals and dynamic new talent bringing fresh perspective. It’s this balance of loyalty, legacy, and innovation that drives Dawsons forward every day.

Our strength lies not just in our services, but in the people behind them — and with the guidance of our four local business partners, Ricky Purdy, Rob Camm, Tim Kostromin, and James Dawson, alongside our Sales Director Jo Summerfield Talbot and former business partner (now consultant) Chris Hope, the team continues to grow in skill, passion, and ambition.

Together, our people embody the Dawsons ethos: professional, approachable, community-focused, and always evolving. Whether they’ve been with us for 20 years or joined just recently, every individual plays a role in our continued success.

A Unified Brand, A Broader Vision

Over the past year, we’ve taken major steps to consolidate and grow our offering under one clear and cohesive Dawsons identity. Some of our most exciting developments include:

  • The formal inclusion of CLC Estate Management into the Dawsons brand, expanding our offering into comprehensive Block Management services. This integration enhances our ability to support clients with an end-to-end property solution, all under one trusted name.

  • A strengthened surveying division, with Rob Camm (CLC) now working alongside James Dawson. Together, they bring a wider range of expertise, including Expert Witness services, to meet increasing demand from legal professionals, developers, and private clients alike.  Joe Demarco is building his own client base with probate work as well as continuing to build on the Homebuyer Report work.

  • The relaunch of Dawsons Auction House, led by David Parton, who brings over 25 years of agency experience. With a fresh new look and a return to traditional BACK IN THE ROOM auctions in March 2025, we’re putting real-time property selling back in the spotlight.

  • Expansion into Neath and Baglan as part of our broader service footprint. With the same local-first ethos that drives our Swansea operations, we’re now delivering the Dawsons experience to more communities than ever before.

  • Repurposing of our Killay branch into a Customer Experience Hub, designed to enhance support and streamline service across our departments. This space reflects our long-term investment in client satisfaction and operational efficiency.

A Culture of Confidence, a Future of Possibility

Behind every one of these changes is a shared vision, a belief in empowering our people, anticipating market shifts, and evolving with the needs of our clients at the forefront.

Whether it’s by promoting proven leaders, refreshing our service lines, expanding geographically, or strengthening our voice through marketing and PR, the decisions we’ve made over the past year are already shaping the Dawsons of tomorrow.

We’re incredibly proud of the journey so far, and even more excited about what’s still to come. ...
