Since the challenges of lockdown forced us to adapt, Dawsons successfully transitioned to online auctions. While our digital platform has proven to be an efficient and accessible solution, we’ve missed the unique energy and connection that comes with in-the-room auctions.
That’s why we’re thrilled to announce in addition to continuing our highly successful online offerings we are bringing back traditional in-room auctions, and shall be “BACK IN THE ROOM” on Wednesday, 5th March 2025 at the Swansea.com stadium.
Why Are We Bringing it “Back in the Room”?
Over the past few years, virtual auctions have allowed us to continue offering a seamless service to our clients. However, there’s no substitute for the buzz of a live auction—where the atmosphere, real-time competition, and personal interactions create an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
By combining our modern technology with the traditional charm of in-room events, we’re aiming to provide the best of both worlds. Whether you’re a buyer or seller, you’ll enjoy the excitement of a live auction backed by the reliability and innovation we’ve offered in recent years.
A New Era, A New Identity
In preparation for this exciting step forward, we’ve given our auction department a fresh new look. Say hello to Dawsons Auction House, complete with our very own logo that reflects our modern yet trusted approach to property auctions.
This marks the beginning of a bold new chapter for our team, who are ready to help you navigate the auction process with their signature expertise and care.
Traditional alongside Online
Whilst we are bringing back the traditional Auction, we shall be continuing with our online offerings, so clients can benefit from either the buzz of the room or the ease of bidding online.
Meet the Team Behind the Change
Our Auction House is powered by a passionate and experienced team, led by the inimitable David Parton, with over 20 years’ experience in Estate Agency, the team are here to ensure every auction—whether in the room or online—is as smooth, engaging, and rewarding as possible.
A few words from our very own auctioneer and business partner – James Dawson
“When I started at Dawsons in January 2005 my father Mike was the auctioneer. It was in the November of that year that I took charge of my first auction. I can still remember how nervous I was as there is no preparation you can do for standing there, everyone focused on you, taking bids and bringing the gavel down to sell a property.
Auctioneering isn’t just about me however standing there taking the bids. We are very fortunate that we have a great Auction Team at Dawsons, who I know can be relied upon to meet the vendor needs and bring a level of professionalism that makes this department very special. David Parton now heads up the department as Auction Manager, bringing over 20 years of property experience to the role. His knowledge and attitude are second to none and he also seems to know every person associated with property in Swansea which is a very useful string to his bow.
David is supported by Phoebe Mainprice who has been instrumental in taking the online auctions forward and has been the reason for our success in this department in the past few years. Phoebe brings a huge amount of experience to the role having dealt with vendors and purchasers in taking this department forward. The newest member to the team is Angel Kerrigan. Only 18 years old she has a maturity beyond her years and brings an enthusiasm and energy to the team that only an 18 year old can!”
David Parton – our Auction House Manager adds:
“I am absolutely thrilled and honoured to be managing Dawsons Auction House at such an exciting time in its history. As someone who has long admired the exceptional standards set by this institution, it is a privilege to be part of a team that has consistently upheld such a distinguished reputation. With a history dating back to 1992, Dawsons has a legacy of excellence in the auction world, and I am excited to contribute to its continued success and growth in the years ahead.
Another key factor that makes Dawsons stand out is our auctioneer, James Dawson. James has been at the helm of our auctions since 2005, and his experience and expertise are second to none. His dynamic presence in the room, combined with his deep understanding of the market, has earned him the respect and trust of clients far and wide. We are incredibly fortunate to have someone of his calibre leading our auctions, and I know that his skill and experience will continue to guide us as we move forward into this new chapter.
Dawsons Auction House has been an integral part of the auction scene since 1992, and I am proud to be managing such an esteemed institution. With a strong team behind me, exciting plans on the horizon, and a heritage built on trust and professionalism, I am confident that we are poised for even greater success in the future. As we prepare for 2025 and beyond, I look forward to working with my colleagues, clients, and everyone involved in the auctions to continue delivering outstanding results and an exceptional experience for all.”
