Dawsons have built a great relationship with local primary school Cwmrhydiceirw over recent years with Sunflower competitions, eco Christmas decorations and so when they reached out to see if we could help them in any way to celebrate their centenary year we could not refuse.
After speaking with year 1 teacher Mrs Evans we came up with a plan, but how the plan turned out was not as expected.
Upon looking at old school records Mrs Evans found notes of 'walks in bluebell fields' so we at Dawsons donated 100 bluebell bulbs for the children to plant (hopefully in the shape of 100) and once again walk through at the school. We are looking forward to seeing these blossom in the summer months now.
Dawsons Marketing & PR coordinator Naomi Webborn also visited both year 1 classes and discussed 'Then and Now' the homes of 100 years ago to today, the differences, the home comforts, it was a great interacting session with lots of discussion.
From this the year 1 teachers tasked the children with creating a house during their half term break, with a view to this being made out of recycled material, based on housing 100 years ago, now or in the future, and for Dawsons to display in their Morriston offices.
Upon revisiting the school to collect the houses, Dawsons were so surprised at the imagination and creativity on the children's houses. Stephanie Vellacott, Morriston Sales Manager said "
The standard of the models made is phenomenal and the attention to detail is extraordinary. Well done and thank you all I am looking forward to seeing you all when you call into the office."
The houses ranged from small cereal box houses to full scale barbie mansion style box's the attention to detail was incredible. Dawsons Marketing coordinator Naomi quoted "There are definitely some budding designers, architects, and estate agents amongst this year group, the children have blown me away with their effort, I cannot stop smiling"
The childrens designs are on display in our Morriston sales and lettings offices for the coming weeks and we urge anyone to come and see them, they are fantastic, here are just a few to showcase and highlight the creativity.
Mrs Evans commented "It has been great to work alongside Dawsons once again this term as part of our Cynefin and centenary celebrations. It is always great to have a link with our local community and the children have loved working with you over the last few weeks and produced some fantastic models as a result! We are still busy planting 100 bluebell bulbs on our school grounds and we were hoping these will blossom soon, creating our very own CRC Bluebell Woods once more! Thank you so much Naomi and the Dawsons team for your continued support! We look forward to working alongside you again soon!"
Thank you Cwmrhydiceirw for allowing us to work with you once again, long may it continue. If your school want to link up with our team at Dawsons then drop Naomi an email on info@dawsonsproperty.co.uk
